Excerpt from
Issue #170 March 2005

This little clamp is useful for clamping small parts for gluing, or just about anything else you want to temporarily hold together. It can be made of spring steel; old leaf springs are a good choice, and 36 will also work provided it is a springy piece.

Paper towels, craft paper or toilet paper are some of the products this paper roll holder can be sized for. The frame is made from x 1 stock with one end split to make the hinge journals and spring. The other end is finished with a loop that fits inside the paper roll. A hinged bracket with another loop features an imbedded rare earth magnet that keeps it in contact with the spring when changing rolls.
