Star drills, although not
as efficient as a hammer drill or rotary hammer, still have a place in your
tool box. They can quickly make a clean hole in softer materials like
mortar and sandstone or bust through stubborn aggregate that has stopped
your hammer drill. Perhaps most important, they work where there is
no electricity.
We show you how to make a star drill, and go over some
of the basics of drilling holes in masonry in issue 148. |
